dan in real life.
i’ve been watching some old movies in the office and i watched dan in real life. its a pretty good show about a single parent, a father, with three daughters and his wife just passed away cuz of a sickness. this guy is pretty ok but he’s a pretty lonesome and stressed up guy cuz of the loss of his wife and also because he has to prepare everything for his kids, and two of them are in their teen years..so some teenage rebellion happens here and there..and he’s very protective of them so when one of them falls in love with a guy, he calls it infatuation instead of love and just writes her off. when they had a family outing during the school holidays, he meets this lady who’s about the same age as him and she’s a lovely person, well liked by the family. she was dating his brother during the time they met. she was trying to avoid him but they shockingly meet each other again at the family home. dan is a loser in the family cuz he’s like the black sheep. he screwed up so many times but eventually love conquers all and he goes in search of this lady he met after she leaves, cuz she just cant take the pretending anymore. the movie ends with him marrying her…

i give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars cuz most of the movie is pretty melancholic with some nice parts here and there…steve carrell, the natural comedian plays the role of a lonely and saddened father of three.

a lot like love.
i watched this movie quite some time ago and i liked it cuz of the heartwarming storyline. basically a guy, oliver, and a girl, emily, met each other rather randomly on a flight from LA to new york. he was somewhat like a nerd and she was a punk rock girl who just broke up with her boyfriend, a guitarist in a band. they had eye contact at the airport and then went on the same flight. he goes in the toilet and she joins him there. you know what happens in aircraft toilets. he meets her again after the flight and says hello. then they go their separate ways, not exchanging numbers. then he meets her again in the city streets and they spend some time together. she takes pictures of him and she keeps the film. they go their own ways again with him giving her his parents’ number. she calls him a few years later and asks to meet up. they meet up to have dinner on new year’s eve. she knows of a party and heads there with him. both of them stay in LA and they head to his house. his house is empty, he’s moving to san francisco the next day to start a business. she’s drunk and falls asleep. a few years later oliver has a girlfriend but she dumps him cuz he’s busy with work. he meets emily at her home. she misses him but he’s depressed after his gf left him. they take a long drive out and take some pictures and make love. they go their own ways again. a few years later, his business goes bust and he meets her at her home again, he sings her a song with a guitar but she’s engaged. he goes away again. she clears her stuff to move out but she finds the film with the pictures of oliver in new york. she realises he made the first move cuz he took pics of her even before they met. she misses him and breaks up with her fiancee. she meets him but he’s all dressed up and in a wedding. she thought its his wedding but it turns out that its oliver’s sister’s wedding. what a lovely ending. i love and hate love stories at the same time. they are so irritating. and amanda peet is so pretty.

i give this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars cuz its got such a good storyline but it aint that fantastic. but the couple’s really cute and the girl’s hot so…yeah.

what is up with people in love? they cant think straight, they lose focus on other things, their world suddenly becomes a whole lot smaller, vision becomes more narrow. what is up with people in love?

can we just stop loving and just focus on the more IMPORTANT things in life? love is such a waste of time! ok not to everyone. maybe its just for those who think they are in love. the ones who are still searching for mr or mrs right. but how come whenever we search for the right one, we always get the wrong? or do we think we got the wrong one? how do we decide who is the right one? is it just a feeling? is it more than that? do we decide after we weigh the pros and cons of the person we desire? is there even a need to weigh the pros and cons of the people we desire?

is it more than just a feeling? does love at first sight exist? cuz i think love at first sight is all about the feeling. you’ve never seen that person before, you never talked to that person before, you dont know how the person talks, laughs, smiles, gets angry, how vulgar, how nice, how understanding, how honest, how playful, how idiotic, how stupid, how smart, how funny or even how miserable the person is. does love at first sight exist? no. to love a person is more than just an emotion. love is a complicated thing and it can be really crappy at times. love takes effort. to love another is like loving yourself. not a lot of people love themselves, you know. it takes effort for one to love themselves. to take care of themselves and to look in the mirror and want to hug themselves. so how is it possible for one to love another when they dont even love themselves?

you need another to love you, you say? loving another is like filling another person’s heart? maybe. so what happens when nobody fills your heart? isnt that feeling the total opposite of love? very much so. everybody needs to be loved.

TO LOVE IS TO ACCEPT THE PERSON WHOLLY, HOWEVER HE/SHE MAY BE AND NOT JUDGE HIM/HER.

why do you think people can love babies so easily? babies cant be judged. they’re just all innocent and unknowing of the negativities of life and people.
